Daniela A. Hritcu joined Art Media as the Design Director in 2019, assuming responsibility for the design and visual identity across all content produced by the company, with a particular emphasis on ARTnews and Art in America magazines and website. Initially engaged as a freelancer, Daniela was tasked with revitalizing both publications and instilling them with a unique visual character.

Daniela brings a wealth of experience to her role, holding a magna cum laude BFA in graphic design from FIT, supplemented by a minor in advertising. Originally from Romania, where she earned an AA in drawing and painting, Daniela also possesses a certificate in the preservation and conservation of national heritage. Prior to her tenure at Art Media, she spent five years as a librarian at the National Library of Romania, focusing on the preservation of rare and antiquarian books.

Transitioning to New York, Daniela pursued a career in the creative industry, serving as an Art Director at Grace magazine before gaining further experience at a fashion advertising agency. Her professional journey spans diverse roles, including on-set art direction, graphic design (with a focus on editorial content), branding, promotional and marketing materials, advertising, photography, illustration, and website design.

Throughout her career, Daniela has collaborated with prominent publishers such as Condé Nast, Time Inc, Hearst, and WW Publishing, contributing to titles including W, Details, Bon Appétit, WW, Cooking Light, and Food Network, as well as various independent publications. Recognized for her excellence, she has received accolades such as MIN and SPD awards.

Currently residing in New York, Daniela harbors a secret desire to relocate to a tranquil Caribbean island one day.
